After graduating from the University of Texas at Austin with a business major and finance minor, Paul joined Dun & Bradstreet.
This experience triggered an entrepreneurial spirit in Paul that manifested itself in establishing a full service advertising firm, Criezis & Carson, followed by creating a statewide business magazine, financial newsletter specializing in Texas Public Companies and a Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston MediaGuide publication.
Paul has been a partner in and helped grow several successful fast food chains, restaurants and real estate ventures.
After selling his interests in these businesses, Paul formed The Carson Group, an independent, full service advertising and marketing company.
The company won many awards such as the “Remarkable Randall’s” campaign being named as the “Best Supermarket Campaign of the Decade” by Supermarket News magazine.
Paul was honored with the “Adman of the Year” by the Houston Chapter of American Women in Radio and Television.
